VIENNA, AUSTRIA — On Sunday, June 28, 2026, the Parish of the Heart of Jesus in Vienna’s 21st district (1210) came alive with energy, faith, and a deep sense of global community. The parish hosted a special interactive Holy Mass completely centered around the active participation of its youth, drawing parishioners and international communities together for a noble cause.
The central theme of the celebration was the “Kindergarten Project in Antique, Philippines,” a vital initiative spearheaded by the Pfarre der Weg Jesu since 2024. The project aims to provide early childhood education, safe learning spaces, and a brighter future for underprivileged children in the province of Antique.
A Celebration of Youth and Community
The youth took center stage during the liturgy, leading the prayers, readings, and musical accompaniment, creating an uplifting and deeply engaging atmosphere for all in attendance.
Adding to the vibrant, multicultural spirit of the day was the strong presence of the local Filipino community. Notable devotional groups, including the Our Lady of Manaoag Devotees and the Divine Mercy group—both under the umbrella of the Through Mary to Jesus Community—actively participated in the Eucharistic celebration.
Faith in Action: A Taste of the Philippines
The charity did not stop at the church doors. Following the Mass, attendees were treated to a lively cultural fellowship featuring an array of authentic Philippine foods and traditional delicacies prepared by the Filipino groups.
More than just a social gathering, the food fellowship served a critical purpose: all proceeds raised from the food sales and donations will go directly toward funding the Kindergarten Project in Antique.
“We are profoundly grateful to the Filipino groups, our youth, and all the parishioners who have consistently poured their hearts and support into this mission,” the parish organizers shared. “Your generosity bridges the distance between Vienna and the Philippines, building a foundation of hope for these children.”
